What is Ahevita?

Ahevita stands for a movement that connects and supports cancer patients around the world. Petra Maria, the founder, brings not only expert craftsmanship but also personal experience, sensitivity, and clarity. She has lived and worked on several continents and experienced a wide range of cultures from Europe and Asia to Australia, Africa, and Hawaii. This international perspective shapes everything Ahevita represents: openness, respect, and a deep understanding of the richness and diversity of human stories.

Our team meets you exactly where you are – physically and emotionally. Not with pity, but with empathy and a true sense for what you need.

Ahevita stands for individuality, self-determination and a respectful approach to this special phase of life.

Petra Maria Paulhart

Founder of Ahevita

I am Petra Maria Paulhart, a trained hairdresser, founder of Ahevita and above all: a person with heart, attitude and a mission.

With Ahevita, I have created something that didn't exist before: a mobile, empathetic and holistic support service for people who lose their hair due to cancer - and often also a piece of their security. I know what change feels like. I know what it means to be vulnerable and still remain strong. That's exactly why I accompany others on this journey: not simply as a service provider, but as someone who listens, understands, thinks and is there.

What I do is more than finding and fitting wigs or hair replacement solutions for my clients. It's about self-determination, beauty and courage. About the freedom to say: “I want to feel good again, in my own way.” That's why I make time for you. I bring experience, expertise and sensitivity and a clear attitude: everyone deserves a framework in which they feel seen. Without pity. But with genuine appreciation.

Ahevita combines my craft roots with my desire to create something meaningful. From the first consultation to aftercare, I'm there. Discreetly. Personally. And always with the aim of giving you back the feeling that you are strong. Just the way you are.

Do you have any questions?

Hair loss can have many causes. Each of which deserves compassion and individual support, regardless of age or gender. People of all ages, whether children, teenagers, women or men, may be in need of a wig.

Medical reasons such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy, autoimmune diseases (e.g. alopecia areata), hormonal changes (e.g. after childbirth or during the menopause) and thyroid disorders can lead to temporary or permanent hair loss.
Genetic causes, such as hereditary alopecia, also play a role.
In some cases, people wear wigs for cultural or religious reasons, such as Jewish women who wear a sheitel (wig) as part of their faith.
Last but not least, psychological stress or stress-related disorders such as trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling) or traumatic experiences can also cause the desire or need for a wig.

In all these cases, a wig not only offers a visual replacement, but often also a piece of self-confidence and normality back.

Wigs differ mainly according to the material used. There are four main types:

  • Human hair wigs look particularly natural, can be styled and are very long-lasting. Ideal for long-term wearers who want maximum naturalness.

  • Synthetic hair wigs are inexpensive, easy to care for and keep their shape. Perfect for everyday or short-term wear.

  • Blend wigs combine the advantages of real and synthetic hair and offer a good balance between price and appearance.

  • Heat-resistant synthetic hair can be styled up to approx. 160 °C. Ideal for fashion-conscious people who regularly want to try out new looks.

Modern wigs are extremely comfortable to wear, even on sensitive scalps. Soft, breathable inner materials ensure a pleasant feeling on the skin. Many models can be individually adjusted to the head circumference, which provides additional support and security. For specific needs, such as for children or people with skin conditions, specially designed, extra-gentle caps are available.

The prices for wigs depend on the material and workmanship:

  • Synthetic hair wig: from approx. 250 € (inexpensive and easy to care for)

  • Mid-range models (e.g. monofilament, lace front): from approx. 400 €

  • Human hair or hand-knotted wigs: from approx. 900 € (very natural and long-lasting)

In many cases of medically induced hair loss, the health insurance company contributes a subsidy or even covers the full amount, depending on the diagnosis and the individual insurance status.

At Ahevita, you receive personal and sensitive support. Step by step:

  1. Sensitive initial consultation
On request by telephone, video or on site

  2. Fitting and individual selection
Try out different models and choose the right wig together

  3. Advice for relatives & parents
Particularly helpful for children or adolescents

  4. Support during uncertainty & transition period
Support with questions about body perception or feeling comfortable with the wig

Ahevita supports you with time, understanding and specialist knowledge, on an individual basis.

The right care depends on the material of the wig. Synthetic hair wigs require special shampoos and balms. They must not be blow-dried or styled with heat and should be washed approximately every 8-10 wears.
Human hair wigs can be washed and styled like your own hair, but need regular care with moisture, oil and heat protection to maintain their quality.

Ahevita supports you with individually tailored care sets, personal advice, regular aftercare appointments and tips for head coverings on days when you want to give your wig a rest.
